Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Yamma for using the app. What we provide, what we don't, and what's expected of you.
In short
- Yamma is a budgeting and financial insight tool. It is not a bank, does not hold or move your money, and is not a regulated financial adviser.
- Everything Yamma suggests (budgets, affordability checks, debt payoff plans) is informational, not personalised financial advice. Always your call.
- You're responsible for keeping your account secure and for the accuracy of the data you connect.
- Yamma is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it accurate and available, but can't guarantee it'll be error-free or uninterrupted.
- You can stop using Yamma and delete your account at any time; we can suspend accounts that break these terms or the law.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
yamma is provided by Yamma Money Ltd (company number 17397219, registered in England and Wales), registered office Unit A, 82 James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE, United Kingdom. Full contact details in Contact below.
1. Who can use yamma
You need to be 18 or over and able to enter into a binding agreement to use Yamma.
By creating an account you confirm you are at least 18 years old and legally able to accept these terms.
2. What Yamma is, and isn't
Yamma shows you what's happening with money you already hold elsewhere; it doesn't hold funds, move money, or give regulated advice.
Yamma is a personal finance app that reads transaction data you bring in (a CSV file you upload, a Google Sheet you pick, or a bank account you connect through Fena) and turns it into budgets, forecasts, and insights.
- yamma is not a bank or payment institution. We never hold your funds and never initiate a payment or transfer on your behalf.
- yamma is not a financial adviser. Nothing in the app is personalised financial, investment, tax, or credit advice. That includes budget suggestions, the "Can I afford this?" wizard, debt payoff plans, and any other calculated output. It's informational only, generated from rules applied to your own data. For advice specific to your situation, speak to a qualified, FCA-regulated financial adviser.
- AI-generated content is a summary, not advice, and is not reviewed by a person before you see it. If you turn on AI features in Settings, Yamma uses Anthropic's AI to write plain-English narration of figures Yamma has already calculated, and (on plans that include it) to answer questions you ask about your own finances. Figures in AI-generated content are checked against Yamma's own calculations before you see them, any change it suggests only happens if you confirm it, and it is always labelled "AI-generated" where it appears. See the Privacy Policy for what is and isn't sent to Anthropic, and how to turn it off.
- Where you connect a bank account through Fena, Yamma itself does not hold any financial services authorisation or perform payment initiation. See the Open Banking Disclosure for how that connection is regulated.
3. Your account
You're responsible for your login and for anything that happens under your account.
You can sign in with an email address and password, a passkey, or your Google account. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in details (and your Google account, if you use it) secure and for all activity under your Yamma account. Tell us straight away if you suspect unauthorised access.
4. Connecting your financial data
You choose what to connect and can disconnect at any time; accuracy depends on the source you connect.
You can bring transactions in by uploading a CSV file, by picking a Google Sheet via Google Picker, or by connecting a bank account through Fena. A CSV is a one-off import. For a Google Sheet we only ever read the one file you pick. Yamma computes budgets, forecasts, and insights from whatever data comes in, so accuracy depends on that source being correct and up to date. Which of these your plan includes, and how many you can connect, is on the Pricing page. You can pause or permanently disconnect any live data source at any time from Settings.
5. Acceptable use
Use Yamma for its intended purpose. Don't try to break it, abuse it, or use it for anyone else's data without permission.
You agree not to:
- Use Yamma to process financial data that isn't yours (or your household's, where you've set one up) without authorisation.
- Attempt to bypass, probe, or interfere with Yamma's security, rate limits, or infrastructure.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell access to the service.
- Use Yamma for any unlawful purpose.
6. Subscription and payment
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually through Stripe and renew automatically until you cancel. You have 14 days from signing up to change your mind, and you can cancel any time from Settings → Billing.
Yamma has three paid plans and no free plan. Current prices, and what each plan includes, are on our Pricing page. That page is the single source for pricing, so it can't drift out of step with what you're actually charged. Annual billing is offered on every paid plan at a discount to twelve months of the monthly price. Additional bank connections beyond the number your plan includes are available as a separate recurring add-on, priced on the same page.
Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. Yamma never receives or stores your card details. Our highest plan begins with a 14-day free trial; your card is taken when you sign up, nothing is charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel before then at no cost. The other paid plans are charged when you subscribe.
Your right to cancel within 14 days. Because you're buying online, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give you 14 days from the start of your subscription to cancel it, for any reason and without having to justify it. When you subscribe, we ask you to confirm that you want access straight away rather than waiting out those 14 days. That confirmation doesn't take the right away. It means that if you do cancel inside the 14 days, we'll refund what you paid minus a proportionate amount for the days you had access. To exercise it, cancel in Settings → Billing or email us at the address at the bottom of this page; either is enough, and we'll refund to your original payment method within 14 days of you telling us.
Cancelling after that. Paid plans bill automatically at the start of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing → Manage subscription, which opens Stripe's secure billing portal. Outside the 14-day window, cancelling stops future billing but doesn't refund the period you're already in; you keep your plan until the end of it, and then your account moves down to the lowest level of access. Nothing is deleted when you do. Your data stays exactly where it is, and the features your plan unlocked simply stop being available until you subscribe again.
If a payment fails, Stripe automatically retries it over the following weeks. Your access continues during that retry window; if every retry fails, your account moves down to the lowest level of access, again with no data lost.
7. Availability and no warranty
We aim to keep Yamma accurate and available, but (like any software) can't promise it'll be perfect or uninterrupted.
Yamma is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that calculated outputs (budgets, forecasts, affordability checks, debt payoff projections) will be perfectly accurate. They're estimates derived from the data you've connected and can be wrong if that data is incomplete or delayed.
8. Liability
We're not liable for financial decisions you make based on Yamma's outputs, or for losses beyond what's reasonably foreseeable and legally allowed to limit.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that can't be excluded by law (e.g. for death, personal injury, or fraud), and nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Including the right to a service performed with reasonable care and skill. Subject to that, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for financial decisions you make in reliance on Yamma's calculated outputs. These are informational, and you remain responsible for your own financial decisions.
9. Ending your account
You can leave whenever you like; we can suspend or end accounts that break these terms.
You may stop using Yamma and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, poses a security risk, or where required by law, with notice where reasonably possible.
10. Changes to these terms
We'll update the date and version at the top of this page whenever these terms change, and flag material changes more prominently.
Continued use of Yamma after a material change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
These terms are governed by, and construed in accordance with, the law of England and Wales, and the English courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms go to the same address as everything else legal.
